What does it look like to trust God when the whole world is falling apart around you — and to make sense of a future no one can fully predict? Over the course of this series, Pastor Rod Meyers walks verse by verse through one of Scripture's most detailed and historically accurate prophetic books, tracing the story of Daniel from a captive teenager in Babylon to an aging statesman receiving visions of the end of the age.
In this series:
🦁 Trusting God (Daniel 1) — Daniel and his friends refuse to be assimilated into Babylonian culture, choosing faithfulness over compromise.

Where are we in Time?
The series addresses the current state of global instability—including conflicts, economic uncertainty, and social confusion—interpreting these through the lens of biblical prophecy. Specifically, it references Matthew 24:6–8, where Jesus describes these phenomena as "the beginning of birth pains."

The 7 Churches of Revelation
The Seven Churches of Revelation are seven historical Christian congregations located in the Roman province of Asia Minor (modern-day western Turkey) that are addressed directly by Jesus Christ in the Book of Revelation (Chapters 2 and 3).
In the text, the resurrected Jesus dictates letters to the apostle John, giving specific commendations, warnings, and promises to each congregation.
The Seven Churches (In Geographical Order)
As a courier traveled clockwise along the Roman postal route originating from Patmos/Ephesus, the letters were delivered in this order:

Ephesus (The Loveless Church) – Commended for their hard work, discernment against false teachers, and perseverance, but rebuked for having "forsaken the love you had at first."

Smyrna (The Persecuted Church) – A church facing severe poverty, tribulation, and persecution from local authorities. They received no rebuke, only praise and encouragement to remain faithful unto death.

Pergamum (The Compromising Church) – Located in a center of pagan worship ("where Satan has his throne"), they were praised for holding fast to Christ's name during martyrdom, but criticized for tolerating false teachers and immoral practices (such as the teachings of Balaam and the Nicolaitans).

Thatira (The Corrupt Church) – Commended for their growing love, faith, service, and perseverance, but heavily rebuked for tolerating a false prophetess nicknamed "Jezebel," who led believers into sexual immorality and idolatry.

Sardis (The Dead Church) – Reputed to be "alive," Jesus sharply criticizes them for being spiritually dead, asleep, and having incomplete works, though He notes there are a few individuals who haven't soiled their garments.

Philadelphia (The Faithful Church) – Located in a city prone to devastating earthquakes, this church received no rebuke. They were praised for keeping Christ's word despite having "little strength," and were promised protection from an upcoming hour of trial.

Laodicea (The Lukewarm Church) – Famously described as being "lukewarm"—neither hot nor cold—because of their material wealth and self-sufficiency. Jesus warns that He is about to spit them out of His mouth, urging them to seek true spiritual riches.
