A Special Letter to the
Church of Covington (Jerry Jasbeck)
And so, after the reviewing the seven churches, Revelation, I wondered what we could be said about our own church.
This time of year is a time for reflection. What have we done and where are we going? Where does our lampstand shine? The following is how I chose to answer the question. And this is to the church of Covington, verses 1-10:
To the one who watches over the church in Covington, write these are the words from him who is the shepherd of all his lambs and the bridegroom of his church. I know of your service to your members, your community, your country, and to the world. I have heard your heartfelt prayers for each other.
Your first church location went on to become a place of education and is now becoming the our place of our city hall. At our present location, you have continued to be a place of faith, education, and community involvement. Your works have sparked interest around the world.
While you were small in membership, you were mighty in faith and efforts. You could do more if you had more membership. Your challenge is to increase your membership, live your faith, and bring more people into the life with the shepherd.
